Work samples

As an ID in marketing, I've been fortunate to work with two groups of learners: customers and marketers. I apply my expertise in learning design and design thinking to creating engaging and effective customer-facing assets, while also continually assessing our team’s processes and activities to identify opportunities for ongoing development. Below is a sampling of the types of work I produce.

Content marketing

At Pearson, I served as both  instructional designer and lead content writer for Pearson's brand awareness campaign. Across all campaigns, I oversaw the instructional design of complex or interactive assets.

Interactive assets

Content doesn't have to be traditionally learning-focused to benefit from instructional design. I worked across campaigns in Pearson Marketing to ensure interactive content was designed with objectives, user experience, and best practices in mind.

Learning & development

As the sole instructional designer on Pearson's marketing team, it was my job to not just apply my expertise to customer assets, but to educate the team on how to apply ID principles to their own work.

Product development

guides

In content development, the establishment of and adherence to best practices is vital. For best practices that were defined at the marketing-level, it was my job to create and manage the guides that documented those development requirements.

Process, workflow, & strategy

One of the critical responsibilities in my latest role at Pearson was leading "special projects" that required information architecture and design thinking expertise to establish new processes or solve complex problems.

Graduate work

I completed my Master of Educational Technology — with an additional graduate certificate in Online Teaching — in May of 2015 through Boise State University.
